Lorre Allen has been making wine since 2006 as a home winemaker.  She makes wine in the Bordeaux style having previously been a French teacher and a fan of all things French.  She and her husband Dr. Joseph Riley planted and incorporated Southwind Vineyard shortly after.  Late in 2009 we brought abord Jamie Sherman,  a long time friend and Nurseryman from Akerboom's in Cedarville.  Jamie installed the irrigation system for the vineyard.  Then his skills as a scientist and inventor showed themselves.  He learned quickly how to make wine and brought mad science to the wine making.  Now Lorre and Jamie work together on the vineyard and the wine,  riding the crest of the wave of scientific method and attempting to perfect the lush wines Bordeaux is known for.  Of course Joe has the final thumbs up on all wine to be presented from our winery.  His support, both moral and financial have launched Southwind as a vineyard and winery.
